Enrollment is Open!
Enrolling in the Conventiculum Bostoniense is a two part process:
(1) Complete the UMass Boston Guest Student enrollment process
"Guest Student" is the term used by the UMass Boston bureaucracy for any student who is not currently enrolled in a UMass Boston degree program. Detailed directions for creating a guest student account and enrolling in courses is available at this website: https://www.umb.edu/registrar/registration/guest-students/
There are three different courses in the course catalog. The course names are a bit confusing:
-
For participants who wish to take Latin 670 (the pedagogy and first-time speakers track) for credit, enroll in LATIN 670: Active Learning methodologies for Teachers of Latin.
-
For participants who wish to take Latin 675 (the literature track) for credit, enroll in LATIN 675: Living Text
-
For participants who wish to take either Latin 670 or Latin 675 as a non-credit auditor (at the reduced tuition rate of $895), enroll in LANGINST006: Latin by the Sea (note: as of May 6, 2024, LANGINST006 is currently listed as "closed." This is a mistake and we are working with the registrar to get the course open as soon as possible).
Screenshots showing how to find the courses in the course catalog are available at the bottom of this website.
(2) Complete the Conventiculum Bostoniense Participant Information form
Please complete this online form to provide us with your preferred contact details and information that helps us plan the course: Click here for participant information form.
Enrollment Deadlines
Enrollment in the Conventiculum Bostoniense will remain open until the start of the course. We ask, however, that participants enroll as soon as they can so that we have accurate numbers for planning meals and field trips.
-
If you want to participate in the online Second Language Acquisition course (June 12-June 30), please enroll no later than June 11, but preferably by May 30.
